Oscar de La Renta RTW Fall '09

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a huge Oscar de La Renta fan. He's an icon to me. He's a Hispanic who worked hard to be recognized in the industry and he's one of the few who still actually sketches his own designs. I loved his Ready To Wear Fall 2009 collection, it reminded me of old classic movies. None of the dresses were short and there wasn't that much skin being revealed. I loved seeing the new textures used for this collection, the bubble skirts, the pleats, and full sleeves on the arms. I really liked the tights with the dresses because that's always in for a day and night look. He combined the colors so nicely! I really love how he's able to emphasize a woman's body so perfectly. I know models do not have much of a shape but I can see his clothing on a woman with curves and it'll look amazing! I love the big hair on the models, it makes it look very modern. I love it all. I hope one day I'll be able to attend one of his fashion shows and have an actual conversation with him!

Ricardo, can you please make it happen?

Is It Worth It?

FINALLY! The The line was released. I like about 40% of those artists, not sure if I'd rather attend this festival than go to New York City. I need help!

Would you rather attend a 3-day music event for your birthday weekend or go to New York City?

Sitting On Top Of the World

The gorgeous model Arlenis Sosa attended the Stephen Sprouse for Louis Vuitton Collection celebration at the Bowery Hotel in NYC last night. I loved her outfit, simple but the necklace made a bold statement for the simple black dress. In the last picture, it's Chanel Iman, Mary Alice Stephenson and Arlenis. Also, KiD CuDi performed. It wasn't expected but Jus Ske made it happen!

Watch out for Arlenis Sosa.. She's the "It-Model" for 2009... Landed a huge Lancome gig and I'm sure plenty of more wonderful opportunities will be offered to this Dominican.
Be on the look out for KiD CuDi too! He's album should be dropping later this year. Download his mix tape for free, here.

UPDATED: Here's a video of KiD CuDi's performance.

Been Wondering

(debuting a New York themed sneaker at the Knicks game)

I've been wondering once his contract is up with the Cleveland Cavaliers(Summer 2010), where would he go? New York Knicks? Or maybe he will surprise everyone and play for the Lakers? I really don't know... I know he has tons of love for New York but I don't think Jay can convince him. He still has a lot of time to think about it and decide, especially when the offers start coming in... I hope "his" team does well this season, I'd like to see him at the finals.

Impeccable

Penelope Cruz looks so gorgeous in this CHANEL suit. She looks so modern! She reminds me of Audrey Tatou, the actress who played Coco in the Coco Chanel movie on Lifetime. The hat, the tights and the black pumps are perfect for her look. She's a pretty girl with the perfect eyebrows.

Impressive: CHANEL Globe Earrings

WOW.... Those earrings added GLAM to that simple beautiful Rock & Republic dress. I personally wouldn't wear them just because I'm more simple... But those earrings are very nice! It says KARL all over them! Only he would.... I wonder how much these earrings cost. Definitely not $300. Maybe slightly under $2,000? I'm sure you must be on the wait-list for these babies... Anyways, Beyonce is on top of her game. Her album was just released(hopefully sales are high) and she was looking gorgeous at Gotham Magazine's Annual Gala in NYC last night. But where's Jay, Bey????
I'm starting to think that Beyonce is near perfection...

UPDATE.
Those CHANEL Globe Earrings cost $3,000. Whoa. Must be from The ULTRA Fine Jewelry Collection that recently came out.

Not only is Chanel Iman my favorite model and muse.. But she's so fashion forward. She isn't afraid to takes risks! She makes ANYTHING look young and fresh! I have never seen her in an outfit that it's boring... I always enjoy seeing pictures of her attending events because she's always looking fabulous! At age 18, she knows what's trendy and rocks an outfit! Can't wait to see more of her!

Alexander Wang Wins CFDA/VOGUE Fashion Fund Award

This is amazing! I've been in love with his work since I heard about him when I was visiting San Francisco when I was a senior in high school but he wasn't big at the time. But I'm so happy that he won. He truly deserves it. His work is unique and it makes a woman feel like a rebel, in a good way. That is so weird tho because today at school I was reading the Vogue issue with Reese Witherspoon on it and I was amazed about the constants for this award. But Congrats Alexander! I was rooting for you the entire time! I hope to have the opportunity to meet you one day or even intern for you! My other favorites were Jason Wu and Carlos Obando.

Does this mean.... We might see an Alexander Wang collaboration with the Go-International line for Target? That's be awesome! *crossing fingers*

The Standard Hotel

The Standard is a hot spot in Downtown L.A. I've been there a few times because I lived across the street and would know when something is going on. But it's such a fun environment. It's very unique! It's not your normal 3-4.5 star hotels, it's very colorful and it reminds me of something I would see in Tokyo. It's actually a really nice hotel, restaurant, pool, lounge/club. It's a hot spot for clubbing in Downtown L.A. Check it out when you're in the L.A area, even to grab a bite! There's three locations at the moment(Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood and Miami) but their building one in New York City in the Meat Packing District. I'm very excited to see the hotel once it's done in NYC because the architecture is going to be incredible! Very different. I cannot wait to stay there and hang out!

The Standard in NYC

If you go on their website, it's pretty neat because the image of the construction changes every 15 mins.
