Top Models

The soon-to-be "It Girl" of 2009, Arlenis Sosa. I remember writing about her in late November and now she was all over New York Fashion Week 2009 and I'm sure she's booked for the entire year. Oscar de La Renta considers her his muse and took her under his wing. Not to mention, her advertisements for Lancome were simply beautiful! Her accent makes her even more adorable.

Another model whose rising to the top is Sessilee Lopez! She was on the cover of Italian Vogue's All Black Issue. Also rumored to be dating Kanye West late last year because of this "Flashing Lights" video. She's all over your local GAP store, too. The reason I had to also write about her because I love her new advertisement pages for the Vogue Nippon Issue and guess what it's called? FLASHING LIGHTS!

NEW Kanye

Here are two new songs featuring Kanye and their sooooo good! I can already see "Walking On The Moon" as the #1 song on the charts!

GLC featuring Kanye West & T-Pain - Flight Club
The Dream featuring Kanye West - Walking On The Moon

Kanye will be featured on March 2009's Details Issue. He's interview is quite impressive, ver y detailed. It will hit stands on 2/24/09.

On using “gay” as a compliment: “Titles are very important. I like to embody titles, y’know, or words that have negative connotations, and explain why that’s good,” he says. “Take the word gay—like, in hip-hop, that’s a negative thing, right? But in the past two, three years, all the gay people I’ve encountered have been, like, really, really, extremely dope. Y’know, I haven’t, like, gone to a gay bar, nor do I ever plan to. But where I would talk to a gay person—the conversation would be mostly around, like, art or design—it’d be really dope. From a design standpoint, kids’ll say, ‘Dude, those pants are gay.’ But if it’s, like, good, good, good fashion-level, design-level stuff, where it’s on a higher level than the average commercial design stuff, it’s, like, gay people that do that. I think that should be said as a compliment. Like, ‘Dude, that’s so good it’s almost . . . gay.’”

Ciara Looking Fabulous

When I saw these pictures of Ciara on Young, Black, and Fabulous... I knew I had to post some of the pictures because their so beautiful! Her face, hair, body and outfits are on point. She looks so girly and modern. I'm loving both of these outfits. The boots are my favorite! The heel and the color are just too cute! I want to know what brand they are.

P.S. She's tooooo pretty for 50 Cent.

Foudroyant

Kate Winslet looks gorgeous on the cover of Feb '09 for United Kingdom's Elle. I don't see her aging at all. "When I grow up, I want to be like her."

- Foudroyant means dazzling.

Beautiful

Kate Hudson looks so pretty on the Feb. '09 issue for Elle. I love that their covers are not boring like, um Vogue! The celebrity/model is actually doing a pose or having fun with the camera. I cannot wait to see this issue, seems very interesting!

Is Anna Wintour Getting The Boot?

Rumor has it that Anna Wintour might be leaving Conde Nast Publications(Vogue, Men's Vogue and Teen Vogue). I keep wondering because this rumor has been out for a while. I also heard she might be replaced by the editor of Russian Vogue Aliona Doletskaya THEN I heard French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld will be taking over. I'm quite confused. I do think American Vogue is becoming very boring now, almost too simple. Maybe that is why I suddenly stopped purchasing Vogue and rather wait to browse through it when it comes to my local library.

Do you think it's true? Are you still amazed by American Vogue?

UPDATE:
WWD has confirmed that rumors are false.

Prettiest Face: Arlenis Sosa

Honestly, I'd be more interested and intrigued to fashion magazines if I saw women who looked a little more like me. I bet if there were a more diversity in magazines, their sales wouldn't be as low. People can relate more to it when it's someone who look like them. As a Hispanic, I'm interested in seeing Hispanics in magazines, American soap operas, etc.

I'm currently admiring the Dominican Arlenis Sosa. She will be featured in the December issue of Vogue. Isn't she fabulous? I'm dying to see more of her in the future!
